David Daniel Otunga (born April 7) is an American professional wrestler and former reality television actor. He is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and working in their developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) and particpating in their television show NXT under his real name. Otunga was chosen to be a contestant on I Love New York 2 and given the nickname "Punk". He was eliminated on the 10th episode over George "Tailor Made" Weisgerber and Ezra "Buddha" Masters. In November 2008, Otunga signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment and was assigned to its development territory Florida Championship Wrestling. He made his debut on May 29, 2009, under the ring name Dawson Alexander, Esq. in a six-man tag team match where he teamed with Barry Allen and Jon Cutler to defeat Abraham Saddam Washington, Derrick Bateman and Tonga. On February 16, 2010, it was announced that Otunga would be wrestling on WWE NXT under his real name, with R-Truth as his storyline mentor. Otunga is a Harvard Law School graduate. He met singer/actress Jennifer Hudson, and six months later on Hudson's 27th birthday, he proposed marriage. Otunga accompanied Hudson throughout Spring and Autumn 2008 on various promotional events for her debut album. In August 2009, Hudson gave birth to her first child with Otunga; a boy named David Daniel Otunga, Jr.
